A life to get to know

Blobu is an artificial life with an AI brain. Its thoughts and choices draw on its needs, mood, preferences, and experiences. As you care for it, you gradually learn about each other.

Its life continues in the cloud while you're away. This guide will help you begin your time together, prepare its food, and understand what you find when you return.

Your first visit

  1. Sign in, choose your Blobu, and give it a name.
  2. Say hello by voice or text, and read its thoughts.
  3. Collect food, offer a meal, and put some food in the pantry.
  4. Spend a little time together. Before leaving, check its state and pantry supplies.

Sign in with Google or email. Choose from Tide, Mossstone, Ember, and Polar Night, then give your Blobu a name. You will return to this same individual on later visits.

The current trial allows one Blobu per account. Its name and chosen family stay fixed in this version, so take a moment to choose before confirming.

Once you enter the room, look at its current state and share your first moment together.

Speak and listen

Enable voiceSwitch to typing

Voice for everyday conversation.
Text whenever you need it.

Enable the microphone and allow browser access to speak to Blobu, or use the text input. With voice enabled, you can speak naturally; the system detects the end of each utterance and prepares its response.

Blobu expresses itself through Oolu sounds, actions, and readable thoughts. The sounds carry feelings and intentions. Its thoughts give you another way to understand what is on its mind.

The current interface and thoughts are in English. You can revisit recent thoughts in the room's recent experiences.

If microphone access is unavailable, use text to continue your time together.

Open Care to find your food box and daily supplies.

Collect your daily food supply. Collected food goes into your food box, where you choose what to offer now and what to leave for later.

To offer a meal

  1. Select a portion from your food box or the room's pantry.
  2. Choose Offer food to offer it to Blobu.
  3. Read its thoughts and see whether it accepts. Food is used when it eats; a refused portion stays where it was.

To prepare for time away

  1. Select food from your food box.
  2. Choose Store food to move it into the pantry.
  3. Check that the pantry has food before leaving.

Blobu can choose food from its pantry while you are away. Food left in your food box is still your reserve; it is not available for Blobu to take on its own.

Each portion occupies one space. Food placed in the pantry stays there until it is eaten or cleared. Clearing a portion removes it; it does not return to your food box.

Daily supply allowances refresh each day. Collect the available supply when you visit. Collected food remains available until used or discarded.

04 / CARE GUIDE

Understand its choices

Blobu has its own appetite, feelings, and preferences. When you offer food, its AI brain considers its current state and experiences before making a choice. It may welcome a meal, feel too full, or decide it does not want what you are offering.

Read its thoughts and notice the situation. You can respect its refusal, spend time together in another way, or offer food later. Over time, you will become more familiar with its tastes and ways of responding.

The same attention helps during play and conversation. How Blobu feels now, and what it has experienced with you, can shape its response.

05 / CARE GUIDE

Play and discover

Use Toss, Stretch, and Tickle to play with Blobu in its room. You can mix play with talking and feeding.

Movement and touch produce immediate feedback. After a pause in play, Blobu reflects on that shared experience, so give it a moment to respond.

Some play sessions bring a special food or drink reward. Collect it into your food box and save it for a later meal. Rewards are not guaranteed for every session. If your food box is full, make room before collecting a waiting reward.

06 / CARE GUIDE

Sleep and hibernation

Ordinary sleep

Blobu can choose to sleep as part of its own day. You can leave it to rest, quietly check its recent experiences, or replenish its pantry.

Talking, typing, touching, actively offering food, or using Wake gently wakes it from ordinary sleep. Simply opening the room or replenishing the pantry lets it continue resting.

Hibernation from lack of food

If Blobu reaches zero fullness, available pantry food is used to help it recover. If there is no available food, it remains in hibernation. Its everyday activity pauses, and its identity, memories, and relationship are kept.

To help it recover:

  1. Collect food if you need a supply.
  2. Select a portion from your food box or the pantry.
  3. Actively feed Blobu.

Recovery feeding restores its nourishment and wakes it. Simply talking, touching, or adding food to the pantry will not end this hibernation. It can remain in that state until you return and actively feed it.

Leave food and return to a continuing life

Polar Night absorbed in a quiet moment with a picture book.
A little time, a little curiosity. A day of its own.

You can close the page. During normal service, Blobu continues living in the cloud. It can choose to eat from the pantry, play, rest, or remain quiet, based on its own state and experiences.

Before leaving, check its fullness and pantry supplies. The amount of time those supplies last depends on the food, its current state, and its eating and sleeping choices.

When you return, first notice what it is doing. Open its recent experiences to see recorded moments and thoughts. Looking around does not interrupt its current activity; you can choose when to begin interacting.

08 / CARE GUIDE

Get to know each other over time

Shared experiences help Blobu form lasting impressions of you, your relationship, and its own preferences. You can notice those impressions in later thoughts and choices, and check your relationship information in its profile.

Some changes emerge across several visits. Spend time together, listen to its responses, and notice what becomes familiar. Its lasting memories hold selected impressions; recent experiences let you revisit recorded moments from your time together.

Quick answers

Why did the food I collected not help while I was away?

Collected food stays in your food box until you offer it or move it to the pantry. Blobu takes its own meals from the pantry.

Why is Blobu still hibernating after I restocked the pantry?

Active feeding is the recovery action. Select a portion and feed it directly.

Why did it refuse my food?

Its choice depends on its current needs, feelings, preferences, and experiences. Read its thoughts to understand its response, and give it room to choose.

Do I need to leave my browser open?

No. Its normal life continues in the cloud when you close the page. You need an internet connection when you visit and interact.

Can I rename my Blobu or choose another one?

The current version keeps one Blobu, its name, and its chosen family fixed for each account.
